Online Parent Coaching

Private parent coaching sessions are designed to help you better understand yourself, your child, and your parent-child relationship. During our sessions we will explore your current and ongoing challenges, how they relate to you and your child's unique needs and development, and find solutions that build life skills and nurture your parent-child relationship.

We will begin your personalized coaching with a 90-minute initial session to give us time to understand the broad range of the challenges you and your family are facing. Then I will create a personalized coaching plan for our follow-up 55-minute sessions based on the goals we establish together.

What is parenting beyond punishment?

Parenting beyond punishment is a peaceful, holistic approach to raising children and nurturing relationships. It encourages parents to focus on their own emotional regulation and choose non-punitive, neurodevelopmentally appropriate responses aligned with each child's cognitive, developmental, emotional, social and sensory needs.

Parenting beyond punishment is about building a strong parent-child relationship based on mutual love, trust, and respect. Parents guide children by modeling self-regulation and empathy, and focusing on cooperative solutions that meet everyone’s needs. Rather than trying to control children's behavior with bribes, yelling, and punishments, peaceful parenting families experience more joy by

  • guiding versus controlling
  • listening versus assuming
  • connecting versus punishing
  • encouraging versus demanding
  • responding versus reacting

Why choose peaceful parenting?

Children raised in homes where they are loved and accepted unconditionally become resilient, successful adults. Likewise, adults who guide children peacefully heal their own early experiences of hurt, and grow in compassion and resilience themselves. Peaceful parenting focuses on building relationships and guiding children with a view toward long-term parenting goals that nurtures...

  • Compassion
  • Critical thinking
  • Emotionally regulation
  • Intrinsic motivation
  • Peaceful conflict resolution skills
  • Resiliency
  • Respect of self and others
  • Responsibility

How does peaceful parenting work?
As a peaceful parent, you will learn emotional regulation skills for yourself as you help your children discover solutions to problems, rather than punishing them for problems that arise. Children have the opportunity to learn from their mistakes, rather than being punished for their mistakes and left wondering what they can do differently the next time.

Who benefits from peaceful parenting?
Peaceful parenting principles benefit people of all ages and relationships. Interacting with others in respectful, accepting and cooperative ways leads to healing and the discovery of solutions that work for everyone, including spouses, family, friends, neighbors, educators, and colleagues!
