Sing-along Books
When I was prepping for this event this morning, in order to bring peace to my home (I have 2 and 3 year-old helpers!), I turned to the Barefoot Books Sing-alongs. Each book in this category comes with it’s own sing-along CD where you can watch the book animated (like this), or just listen along to the music with or without words.
Feelings and Life Lessons
Each book in this category can be used to facilitate discussions with your children about their feelings and the world around them. Whether it be the birth of a new sibling, bedtime, sharing, giving to others without expecting in return, anger, fear, adoption, being vegetarian, or even death, there is a book for you.
Diverse & Inclusive
Books that depict a variety of cultures, races, religions, economic situations, family structures, abilities, and even preferences in a respectful and non-stereotypical manner. This term can also be used to refer to books written or illustrated by people from underrepresented groups. Celebrating differences
Barefoot strives to break new ground when it comes to celebrating what makes us all alike and different. Reading and talking about differences in people is one of the best ways to cultivate compassion and encourage empathy. There are 2 books in particular that I would like to highlight that bring focus to all the wonderful ways children are alike no matter their family structure, economic situation, or geographic location.

World Cultures
Barefoot makes it easy to travel the world with your children without leaving home! With books representing countless countries and cultures you can dance with elephants in India, learn the value of sharing while making pancakes in Kenya, or follow along with two sisters as they convince their father to buy a solar lantern in Nepal.
Most of these books also boast end-notes to facilitate deeper learning.

Foreign Language
Barefoot offers lots of Spanish, French, and Bilingual books for all ages. We love the Bear series here as they are all bilingual and are short, easy ready with lots of opportunity for vocabulary building.

Baby’s First Books
